UVCS MISSION LOG ---------------- Date: 14 July 2003 ----- Last revision: 15 July 2003 (Wu) -------------- File Name: 2003.07.14.a.log ----------- Compiled by: Y.-K. Ko, R. Wu ------------ UVCS Activity: Load and Start Coronal Jet Study for 14 - 15 July 2003 -------------- Load Mini Synoptic for 15 July 2003 Load Coronal Jet Study for 15 July 2003 SOHO Activity: Received in email from SOC Mon, 14 Jul 2003 -------------- 17:09:42 UT: At 15:45 UT today (Monday, July 14) SOHO had a warm startup. Received in email from SOC Mon, 14 Jul 2003 19:08:33 UT: We went back into Medium Rate at 18:43 UT. The OBT was distributed to all instruments as part of the standard recovery script. Received in email from SOC Mon, 14 Jul 2003 19:55:15 UT: The cause of the Warm Startup is well understood: An On Board Data Handling (OBDH) error was triggered during testing of the antenna Z axis drive in double coil mode. The two commands (one for each coil) were sent close enough in time to be flagged by an on-board protection for this type of commands. EOF Staff: D. Dobrzycka: Lead Scientist ---------- R. The polar jets were originally observed at solar minimum when the polar holes were large, dominating structures in the corona. At the current declining phase of the solar cycle the polar holes appeared again as permanent structures. The purpose of the observations is to study counterparts of solar minimum polar coronal jets.
