This information concerning the flare was passed to UVCS team by SOC. Additional information from RHESSI Major Flare Watch update: Target region, NOAA 0486, produced a very large event, an X17 event at 10/28/11:10 UT. This is one of the largest flares of solar cycle 23. A very large CME was associated with this event. 0486 is capable of producing additional major flares.
