M4 Meeting Travel Information

 Schedule

The meeting will begin early in the morning on 10/21/99 (Thursday), and end in the early afternoon of 10/22/99 (Friday)--for everyone except those very interested in a special technical session to be held Friday afternoon. The final schedule will be posted here ~1 week before the meeting date.

 Air

The Harvard Travel Office will buy your tickets in advance, using Harvard's "discount" rates, wherever possible. Please contact them directly at 617-496-8000. Just tell the representative you get that you are with the "M4" meeting--code number 4254--, and that you'd like your tickets paid for by the meeting. If you'd be willing to stay for the weekend, we'd be happy to pay for accomodations for Friday & Saturday nights if that qualifies you for a much cheaper airfare.

 Hotel

The Harvard Travel Office will also be reserving hotel rooms. Please contact them directly at 617-496-8000. Just tell the representative you get that you are with the "M4" meeting--code number 4254--, and that you'd like a room at the Sheraton Commander, or another nearby hotel, through the meeting's reservations. If you prefer a different hotel, feel free to make your own reservations. We can reimburse you for up to $180/nt USD. Also, rooms for Saturday night may be difficult because of the Head of the Charles rowing Regatta in Cambridge that weekend.

 Ground Transportation

Cambridge is easily accessible from Logan Airport by either public transportation (a subway called "The T"), or taxi (about $25 each way). We can reimburse you after the meeting for ground transportation expenses. Please save your receipts.

 MeetingLocation

The meeting will be held in the 3rd Floor Conference Room (340) of the 160 Concord Avenue Building of the Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, MA (across the river from Boston). Note: This is not the main observatory complex--it's across the street from that. See map.

 Meals

Meals, including a meeting dinner on 10/21, will be provided by the meeting organizers.
