Who Am I

I am a Senior Software Engineer in the Science Education Department at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. In project MicroObservatory I have developed the first and only software for educational use that allows students to easily and totally control sophisticated robotic telescopes. I have also developed MicroObservatory Image that gives students access to powerful yet easy to use image processing tools. I have developed graphical computer simulations to teach students about wave mechanics, kinematics, spectroscopy, bridges and black holes.

My interests also include JAVA, JSP, Servets, Applets, creating Graphical User Interfaces with Swing, object oriented programming, 2D and 3D animation, CGI, PERL, and network programming. I also like to cook, bicycle, travel, go to movies, and help the Red Cross with blood drives at Harvard. I live in Cambridge, MA with my wife Jessie Saacke and our two cats, Greta and Cleo.
