Precision Astronomy Group
The Precision Astronomy Group is in the
Radio and Geoastronomy Division at the
Center for Astrophysics.
Our two prime areas of study are
- Optical interferometry, including
- development of the spaceborne
POINTS instrument and a simpler precursor instrument
known as Newcomb, and
- contributions to the
IOTA
(Infrared-Optical Telescope Array) project, which is developing a ground-based
interferometer; and
- Solar system dynamics and general relativity
Bob Reasenberg is also a member of the
IOTA
(Infrared-Optical Telescope Array) consortium, which has recently completed
the early stages of testing the IOTA ground-based interferometer.
